SEE WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE COLUMBUS CHAPTER!

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

At our upcoming March Chapter meeting, we will elect officers for 2008-09. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can still vote by proxy (which will be included in the March newsletter). Proxies will be due to Becky Von Ohlen before the March meeting. Officers will begin their duties April 1.

ALA COMMUNITY CHALLENGE WEEKEND

Highlights of this year's Community Challenge Weekend included donating to breast cancer research during Lee Denim Day and to the Miracle Playground of Dublin, collecting coats for needy families, volunteering at the annual fundraiser for Adventures for Wish Kids, and serving spaghetti dinner to 180 people at the YWCA Family Center. Thanks to all of you who participated in Community Challenge Weekend!

SMALL FIRM ADMINISTRATORS' FORUM

The Small Firm Administrators’ Forum (SFAF) meets every other month at the Columbus Bar Association.  Details about upcoming meetings can be found in the chapter newsletter.  All members are welcome to attend the SFAF meetings, regardless of your firm’s size.  Please contact committee chair Richard Arndt for more information.

MONTHLY CHAPTER MEETINGS

Monthly chapter meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of each month at noon the Renaissance, a Columbus Hotel, 50 N. Third Street (date and/or time changes are noted in the chapter newsletter).  Speakers discuss educational areas of knowledge that help chapter members operate a law firm or legal services department.  Upcoming speaker and topic information can be found on page 3 of the Columbus Chapter News.

LEGAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The Legal Career Development Committee generally meets monthly from September to June to coincide with the school calendar.  Meetings are held at the Columbus Bar Association and are listed in the monthly newsletter.  For more information on this committee and its meetings, contact committee co-chairs Kathy Rosenberry or Paula Coulter.

A GREAT WAY  TO GET INVOLVED IN THE CHAPTER
